Crackdown on Stoney Trail speeders sees police issue more than 200 tickets

The latest crackdown on speeders on Calgary’s Stoney Trail has resulted in dozens of tickets in just a few hours.

Calgary police (CPS) say the targeted operation at Stoney Trail and Bow Trail SW comes as officers continue their months‑long push to curb dangerous driving on the ring road.

According to police, officers conducted a three-hour enforcement blitz on that stretch of Stoney on Saturday, issuing more than 40 summonses, 10 warnings, and stopping one driver who was travelling 147 km/h.

The ongoing effort is part of CPS’s Drive to Zero campaign aimed at reducing serious and fatal crashes.

The campaign resulted in more than 200 tickets on that same stretch of roadway in just a few months.
