Man stabbed in self-defence during domestic assault: Calgary police

A man was stabbed and then later arrested after an assault in northeast Calgary on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Pinehill Road NE in the community of Pineridge around 5 p.m. for reports of an assault.

Officers arrived to find a man suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital and then placed under arrest.

Police believe the man’s injuries were the result of an act of self-defence that happened during a physical fight.

Investigators say the incident is domestic in nature.
