Woman attacked by group near NW CTrain station; police seek five suspects

Calgary Police are turning to the public for help in a NW assault investigation, and sharing images of the suspects.

A woman was found badly injured on Thursday evening, and police say she had been attacked hours earlier by a group near a northwest Calgary CTrain station.

The investigation began after a man at Sunnyside LRT Station called 911 around 5:50 p.m. after seeing the woman with several injuries.

She was taken to hospital with serious wounds consistent with an assault involving a weapon.

Officers later determined an attack had occurred around 1:30 p.m. in a grassy area just south of the Lions Park LRT platform between 13 and 14 Avenue N.W.

Investigators reviewed security footage and identified one man and four women believed to be involved in the assault. Police have released photos of the group and are asking anyone with information to contact them.

Anyone who recognizes the individuals or has details about the attack is asked to call 403‑266‑1234 or reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
