Weekend search for Parker closes city park entrance

Calgary police briefly closed areas near a park over the weekend in the search for a missing 11-year-old boy who is autistic and non-verbal.
The entrance to Nose Hill Park, in the city’s northwest, was closed Saturday and reopened Sunday evening after police say the search in the area for a boy named Parker was complete.
Parker was last seen July 16 at his care home in Calgary’s north end.
Hundreds of volunteers and police have been scouring backyards, homes and sheds since then for any sign of him with the search now into a 12th day.
Calgary Police spoke last week of their persistence with the case.
“We will continue to pursue every lead, examine every possibility, and we remain absolutely committed in our efforts to find Parker,” Acting Staff Sgt. Scott Guterson told a news conference.
