Cochrane pilot in crash landing

A 60-year-old pilot from Cochrane ought to buy a lottery ticket, or maybe he’s used up all his luck.
The unidentified man survived when he crash landed his plane on the Trans Canada highway on Friday.
Officials say it appears engine trouble forced him to bring his two-seater aircraft down near Field, BC, just west of the Alberta-BC border.
The aircraft touched down on the highway but then spun out and crashed into the ditch, trapping the pilot in the cockpit.
Incredibly, when they arrived, firefighters found him conscious and were able to talk with him during the extrication.
He’s in stable condition in hospital.
