It was big weekend for prostate cancer awareness here in Calgary.
At the Brier, John Morris and Team Canada are the national ambassadors for Prostate Cancer Canada, and are rocking the logo on their jerseys.
Meanwhile, corporate teams climbed hundreds of flights of stairs to raise money for the cause as part of the “Step-up Challenge”.
Participants register in teams, raise money and then take on the stairs of the five biggest office buildings in their city.
It happens in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.
Prostate Cancer Canada CEO Rocco Rossi said Calgary beat Vancouver in terms of money raised.
“Calgary came out in a big way and crushed Vancouver’s total and has raised over $170,000 and climbing.”
100 per cent of the proceeds will go to a project that Prostate Cancer Canada is funding at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
