New website aims to cut red tape

Mayor Naheed Nenshi has announced the launch of a new website to help cut red tape.

The site explains the initiative and allows entrepreneurs and business representatives to offer input on how dealing with the city can be made easier.

Nenshi says the 311 program is a is a good example of progress.

“Having one phone number is itself a cut red tape initiative,” said Nenshi.

The city has partnered with 12 local businesses as part of this latest phase.

Nenshi hopes Calgarians will offer their suggestions at the website which will be up and running until the end of January.
