Pigeonhole

Pigeonhole
Where: 306 17 Ave SW, 403-452-4694, pigeonholeyyc.ca

What: A small plates-focused restaurant next-door to Model Milk that offers unique dishes like nori crumpets with shrimp butter or burnt cabbage with shaved cheese (way more delicious that that description suggests), great craft cocktails and a dynamic wine list.

Price point: Moderate. Small plates are $8-$12 dollars and drink prices are similar to other like-minded restaurants in the city.

Pro: With extremely capable service and a menu full of refreshingly creative dishes, this is the most interesting restaurant concept to open up in Calgary in the past year.

Con: If you came here with a group, it would be pretty easy to eat the entire menu in one sitting, but the menu will change often and notably, giving you a reason to come back more frequently.
