Dooks defends officer’s actions

The head of The Calgary’s Police Association is defending an officer accused of a serious breach of privacy.
The constable is alleged to have tapped into a police database as part of a personal, family-related dispute.
President John Dooks says there was nothing sinister about the officer’s actions; he just went about it the wrong way.
But the privacy commissioner and an internal police investigation say the member did commit serious breaches .
He could be fired.
