Over $27 million is coming to Calgary to help with the fight to end homelessness.
The funds come from the provincial government as part of its 10-year Plan to End Homelessness.
John Rook, President of the Calgary Homeless Foundation says nine programs will benefit from the funds, helping 320 people.
In total, $60 million has been handed out through out the province.
“Homeless Albertans can focus on achieving their full potential when they have access to permanent homes and the supports they need,” said Dave Hancock, Minister of Human Services. “We have made significant progress in ending homelessness in Alberta and the additional outreach funding will allow us to continue to give homeless and formerly homeless Albertans the opportunity to build fuller, healthier lives.”
