CALGARY (660 NEWS) – Not a good week for the owners of the Pig & Duke Pub as both locations in our city’s southwest have been hit with burst water pipes thanks to the warmer temperatures.
Owner/operator Joanne Lowden says they got the first call Sunday morning from the cleaners about a foot of water at their downtown location.
Then on Monday morning, the ceiling at their 12 Avenue location came down with gallons of water streaming into the building and they didn’t find the shut-off valve for about 45 minutes.
She says it’s unfortunate for their staff because they’re all out of work right now too so they’re trying to get them as many hours as possible doing cleanup at this family-run business.
Lowden says reconstruction crews are on scene at both locations and they hope to reopen the 12 Ave location in time for Superbowl LIV on February 2.
