Attendee of ‘No More Lockdowns’ rodeo tests positive for COVID-19

CALGARY (CityNews) — An attendee of the “No More Lockdowns” rodeo near Bowden, Alta. has tested positive for COVID-19.
Alberta Health Services say they are “aware” of the positive case directly linked to the rodeo that took place earlier this month.
No further details about the person were provided, but officials took the opportunity to express a reminder of the health orders to Albertans.
“In some cases symptoms may be mild and individuals may not seek out COVID-19 testing. COVID-19 can also be spread asymptomatically, and an individual may not know they are spreading the virus,” reads the statement provided by AHS.
“This is why it is imperative that all Albertans continue to follow CMOH orders to avoid unknowingly spreading the virus to others.”
Thousands of people gathered for the event near Bowden.

On May 6, AHS was granted an injunction against organizers of illegal gatherings that breach the public health orders.
The organizers of the rodeo, Ty and Gail Northcott, were charged under the Public Health Act a few days later.
