Calgary’s Ukrainian Canadian Congress is organizing a peaceful protest marking five months since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
“In that time, millions have fled the country or been internally displaced, and tens of thousands of men, women, and children have become victims of a deliberate and barbaric campaign of violence aimed at terrorizing the population: bombardments, missile and artillery strikes, sexual
assault, torture, deportation, and execution” according to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Calgary branch release.
At 3 p.m. on Sunday people will gather at the Holodomor monument at Memorial Dr. and 4 St. northeast to peacefully stand against the ongoing atrocities Russia is committing in Ukraine to remind Calgarians that the war is not over and to encourage everyone to support Ukraine.
