The Calgary Flames have hired Canadian women’s hockey star Rebecca Johnston to a full-time role in the team’s player development department, the club announced Tuesday.
Johnston, a four-time Olympian, has won three Olympic gold medals and two world championships. In those tournaments, she has produced 72 points over 76 total games.
She also won the Clarkson Cup twice as a member of Calgary Inferno, with one of those wins as the captain.

The team also says she will work in prospect evaluation, and on-ice instruction, as well as with the Flames foundation in community programs.
The 32-year-old already worked with the Flames earlier this NHL off-season, helping tutor prospects at this summer’s development camp.
Johnston did not play for Canada at the 2022 world championships.
