Calgary police say speed was a factor in a crash involving a motorcyclist who died in the city’s southwest Thursday.
Officers say it happened around 7:20 p.m. when a 19-year-old man on a Suzuki motorcycle drove eastbound on 9 Avenue near the 14 Street overpass.
They say the motorcycle struck a railing, throwing the rider from the bike and landing on 14 Street below 9 Avenue.
