CTrain service resumes on stretch of Blue Line after cube van crashes on tracks

There wasno CTrains running along a stretch of the Blue Line in northeast Calgary after a crash involving a cube van that flipped over onto the tracks.

CTrains are running once again along a stretch of the Blue Line in northeast Calgary after a crash involving a cube van that flipped over onto the tracks.

Emergency crews were called to Metis Trail NE near McKnight Boulevard around 1:25 p.m. for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

A Calgary police spokesperson tells CityNews a vehicle was travelling on Metis Trail north of McKnight when it crashed and came to a rest on the CTrain tracks.

Images from the scene show a cube van flipped over blocking part of the train tracks.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

There was no CTrain service between McKnight and Whitehorn stations for several hours with shuttle buses running between the two stations. Train service resumed around 6:30 p.m.
