The last weekend of the Calgary Stampede has lots in store for visitors who haven’t made it through the park gates.
Friday saw an attendance of 128,304, bringing the total to nearly 1.2 million–just over 20,000 more than 2024 at this time. The Stampede this year is on pace to beat its old record of 1.47 million visitors set just last year.
But with two days left, and plenty of pancakes to flip, Calgarians and visitors alike can head to the midway, a concert, or the powwow at the Saddledome.
Here’s what’s on tap for Saturday.
Calgary Stampede Powwow
The Calgary Stampede Powwow competition gets going at 1 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday.
Now in its fourth year as a feature of the ‘Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,’ the powwow features First Nations dancers and drummers from throughout Canada and the United States.
The powwow competition on Saturday goes from 1-5 p.m., and 12-4:30 p.m. Sunday. Attending is free with park admission.
Everyone is invited to watch and celebrate, and the Stampede says it’s an opportunity to learn more about the ceremony and cultural celebration.
Dancers will be looking to win in several events, including women’s and men’s fancy, women’s and men’s traditional, women’s jingle, and men’s buckskin.

Concerts galore
There are plenty of concerts to sate music lovers’ appetites. Whether good ol’ country or electronica and dance, each of the stages has something for everyone.
The Coca-Cola Stage headlines Duke Dumont at 9 p.m. and Alesso at 10 p.m. on Saturday. Simple Plan will be closing out the show on Sunday.
But before that, Naduh gets the crowd started at 12:30 p.m., followed by Alicia Creti at 1:45 p.m., Lovra at 7:45 p.m., and Hayla at 8:15 p.m.
Over at the Big 4 Roadhouse, Tom Morello, who famously played guitar and co-founded Rage Against the Machine, will hit the stage at 10 p.m.
Jory Kinjo will keep the crowd excited from 4 p.m. until Morello starts–with a few breaks in between, of course.
Lastly, American Idol 19 winner Chayve Beckham is on the Nashville North stage at 10 p.m. He is followed by Drew Gregory, who caps the night off at 11:59 p.m.
But not before Tristan Hardcastle takes the stage at 4 and 5 p.m., who will be followed by Maria Stokes at 6 and 7 p.m.
You can also head to GMC Stadium for the Grandstand Show at 10 p.m., headlined by Alberta’s Carolyn Dawn Johnson and the Young Canadians.
More information about concerts can be found online.
Rodeo and chuckwagons
Before the Grandstand gets underway, visitors can check out the rodeo and the Calgary Stampede Evening Show, starting at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
The latter precedes the Grandstand Show and also features Relay Racing, which gets going right after the Rangeland Derby finishes.
Jamie Laboucane got the top chuckwagon time on Friday, bringing him closer to first place–only a couple of seconds behind Chanse Vigen’s total of 9:41.81.
Stampede Communications Manager Julie Forget says rain or shine, it’s been a strong turnout each day.
“We’ve had fantastic attendance this year for the rodeo and for the evening show, with about 99 per cent capacity,” she said.
And of course, before all is said and done, the night finishes with the fireworks.
