The Bearspaw First Nation is looking for suspects that stole one of their four Tipis near Calaway Park on Aug 13, between 6 pm and 7pm. Rayn Rashid has the story.

A First Nation west of Calgary is asking for help from the public after it was the victim of theft this week.

In a post to social media, Bearspaw First Nation says one of its four tipi canvasses was stolen on Wednesday.

The First Nation says the tipi was taken from a site along the Trans Canada Highway, just west of Calaway Park.

It’s suspected the theft happened some time between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to contact Cochrane RCMP at 403-932-2211- or Stoney Tribal Security Services at 403-881-2666.

Bearspaw First Nation says it is taking down the remaining three tipis out of caution.
