Power restored after afternoon outage in Downtown Calgary

Hundreds of customers in downtown Calgary were left without power due to an unexpected outage on Wednesday afternoon.
The power outage began around 12:30 p.m. and impacted several neighbourhoods in the downtown area, including the Downtown Commercial Core, Eau Claire, and Chinatown.
According to Enmax, more than 750 customers were affected.
The power was restored around 4 p.m. The cause of the outage remains under investigation.
Nearly two dozen downtown traffic signals were not working due to the outage. Crews set up portable generators to keep traffic moving.
