RCMP in Drumheller have laid more charges against a local businessman accused of sexually assaulting several youth who worked for him.
It all started back in August, when a report was made to police by a victim alleging a series of sexual assaults that happened over several years while they were young.
The suspect, 59-year-old Bernard Germain, was the youth’s boss.
Following the initial investigation, he was charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference.
After the news of Germain’s arrest, three more victims came forward with allegations of sexual assault against him. All of the victims were also employed by him at the time.
Germain is now facing three more charges of sexual assault, three more charges of sexual interference, and three charges of sexual exploitation.
He has been released from custody, according to police, and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 21
