Multiple arrests made in alleged stolen vehicle incident: Calgary police

By CityNews Staff

Calgary police have arrested several individuals involved in a stolen vehicle incident in a high-risk takedown in the city’s southeast Sunday.

Police responded to the incident at around 2:40 p.m., saying the takedown happened on the intersection of Canyon Meadows Drive and Macleod Trail–specifically the off-ramp from northbound Macleod Trail onto Canyon Meadows Drive.

Staff Sgt. Mike Sushelnitsky says the accused offenders were taken into custody following the incident, which investigators believe started in the morning.

He explains they have not ruled out the suspects being responsible for stealing other vehicles in the city.

Charges are still being determined.

A large police presence led to traffic slowdowns in the area.
