Suspect wanted for alleged assault outside SE Calgary pub: police

A man is wanted in connection with an assault that happened in the Calgary Forest Lawn area at the end of May, officers say.

It happened on May 30, when a man was sitting in an alley behind a pub on the 4200 block of 17 Avenue SE with two women and a dog.

While they were sitting, the suspect approached them and attacked the man at around 6:45 p.m. Police say one of the women intervened before the suspect fled.

The victim is a man in his 30s, and he was rushed to hospital in critical condition, though he has since been released.

Investigators say they believe the two aren’t known to each other.

The suspect hasn’t been identified, and police are asking the public for help.

He is described as 30 years old, wearing a black baseball hat, a red hoodie with Hustle Gang printed on the front, black pants, and black Nike runners with a red swoosh. They add he was carrying a black backpack.
