Truck found floating down Bow River near Calgary Zoo; police investigating

Calgary police are investigating after a truck was found floating down the Bow River on Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called around 6:45 a.m. for a welfare check after the vehicle was spotted floating near the Zoo Bridge.
Alex Kwan, spokesperson for the Calgary Fire Department (CFD), says a jet boat was sent out to check on the truck. No one was inside when crews arrived.
“We’re just supporting the tow truck from removing the vehicle from the water,” said Kwan. “We did set up with our hazardous material team to set up a boom to capture any hydrocarbon oil or gas leaking out of the vehicle.”
Fire crews are working alongside Calgary police.
There is still no word on how the truck ended up in the water. The investigation is ongoing.
