It’s Election Day in Alberta

It’s finally time to mark your ‘x’; Monday is Municipal Election Day in Alberta.
In Calgary, polls open at 10a.m., and close at 8p.m.
There are predictions turn-out for this municipal election will be low, with incumbent Naheed Nenshi expected to capture his second term as mayor.
A lot of voters in the city’s northwest tell 660News, they’re ready to have their say and cast a ballot.
“There are people in the world dying to get the chance to vote,” one woman said. “If you have the freedom to do it, why not?”
However, there are a few who say it’s too much of a hassle to get out and vote.
“I just don’t have the time for it,” another commuter said.
Besides the mayor, there will be 14 council positions to keep an eye on, as well as seven public trustees, and seven catholic trustees.
Remember to bring your government issued ID with you to the polls.
If you’re unable to leave your home because of injury, illness or disability, you can call a special service at 403-476-4100, until 4p.m. Monday, to be able to vote at home.
