A Calgary teen has been sentenced for a deadly stabbing on a downtown C-train platform.
The youth, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2008 death of 22-year-old Shawn Chiasson has been handed a three year sentence.
He will spend two of those years in an intensive rehabilitation program while the other twelve months will be supervised in the community.
In December 2008 the youth fatally stabbed Chiasson after the two bumped shoulders on a C-train platform on 7th avenue.
Chiasson was stabbed multiple times, once in the heart.
The victim’s mother tells 660News her family’s faith in the justice system has been shaken to the core. Murial Chaisson says she partially blames the young man’s family for not teaching him better.
