There is some good news and some bad news about the rare tiger cub being cared for at the Calgary Zoo.
The endangered animal gave staff a scare on Thursday when her heart function dropped significantly.
Although the cub is doing okay now, there are still concerns over the animals continued lack of a suckling reflex and zoo staff are closely monitoring her metabolism.
On the plus side, the cub has continued to put on weight and there have been improvements in her ability to regulate her body temperature.
The tiny cub is under 24 hour a day care after being abandoned by her mother earlier this week.
