Hole left in Chinatown a year after fire

It’s been a year since a devastating fire gutted a Chinatown building and the site is still an eyesore.

Area Alderman Druh Farrell says it’s unfortunate, but there’s not much that can be done about it.

“We can’t force the developer to develop that property, but it’s the responsible thing to do,” Farrell told Citytv.

The restaurant destroyed in the fire has remained an empty lot for the last year.

Police say the blaze was intentionally set, but no arrests have been made.
