Ring road open houses finish

The province has wrapped up its open houses for a proposed southwest ring road.
Some Lakeview and Oakridge residents, who attended the final one Thursday night to push for the thoroughfare, said they want to know why things are taking so long.
Several people living in the area say they need better ways to get out of their communities and that it’s time to move on construction, with or without a deal with the Tsuu T’ina band.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Save Glenmore Park initiative say the prospect of carrying hazardous materials on a roadway going over the Glenmore Reservoir is risky because Calgary’s main source of drinking water is below.
