City pledges that election sign overload won’t repeat

The city’s bylaw department isn’t expecting the swamp of election signs we saw last fall during Calgary’s civic contest.
But officials are making sure federal candidates are clear about the rules.
Bylaw boss Bill Bruce tells The Calgary Sun they’ve received a lot of calls from concerned residents since Saturday’s election call, hoping that the civic sign flood we saw leading up to October’s vote doesn’t happen again.
Bruce says part of the reason the civic sign wars were so fierce is because of the sheer number of people who wanted a council spot.
He says there aren’t as many federal candidates, so he’s not expecting the same kind of billboard competition.
