Each party tends to have the same information and many of the same tools available at their online headquarters.
According to Rogers’ web producer Joel Smith, some have a better presentation than others.
He says the Conservative site has a very basic layout and seems outdated compared to the designs and formats of the others. “It needs a little bit of a face lift,” he says.
“The Conservative website to me, looks a little bit outdated and does not look as up and coming and as current as I believe it could be,” says the web producer.
Smith says the Liberals and NDP both get top marks for their sites, which are visually commanding, easy to use and integrate social media in an effective way.
He tells 660News there is a clear winner in the web wars. “I like the layout of the Liberals website the most. Very close second is the NDP, they look very modern.”
“They have used a lot of neat features and have integrated social media very well into their websites,” says Smith.
He also points out that more people choose the Internet as their source for information, therefore it is important to have the most up-to-date website as possible.
“Really, what it boils down to is navigation,” says Smith.
