Massive security detail being put in place before royal visit

Making sure the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are safe while they tour Calgary is no small undertaking.
RCMP Sergeant Patrick Webb tells 660News up to 200 Mounties could be deployed to make sure William and Kate are protected.
Webb says they will have a better idea of exactly what’s required when the royal couple’s official travel itinerary is released in a few weeks.
He says keeping the newlyweds safe while allowing as much public access as possible is a real balancing act.
The Mounties will also be on the lookout for counterfeit royal merchandise, which is expected to pop up all over the city.
Eighty-five journalists from the United Kingdom alone will be making the trip, providing coverage back in London during the couple’s first international trip.
Tourism Calgary is ecstatic that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going to be here as the city kicks off its annual western party for Stampede.
Heritage Minister James Moore estimates the cost of hosting the royal couple between June 30th and July 8th will be less than $2-million.
