A specialized unit of Crown prosecutors will try the case of two white supremacists charged with murdering a Calgary man at random.
Robert David Reitmeier and Tyler William Sturrup were charged with second degree murder after Mark Mariani was beaten to death in a parking lot across from North Hill Mall last October.
Alberta Justice tells The Calgary Sun the special team of lawyers is brought in when certain levels of expertise are required on issues like gang crime.
Calgary police have said the two men’s affiliations with white supremacist groups had no role in the Mariani murder.
