Comic Convention: Out of this world!

Thousands of Calgarians got a chance to geek out at the Comic and Entertainment Expo, Saturday.
The atmosphere was electric in the exhibit area beside the Stampede Coral, it was like the second official day of Halloween.
What really stood out were the costumes.
Many dressed up as their favourite superheroes and some took part in the costume contest.
One fan, Jacob, describes his costume, “I’m a Jedi Guardian from the new game that’s coming out from Bioware, Old Republic. I had to look up some pictures of him to get a proper look.”
Jason dressed like his favourite character Spiderman, “When you have a good costume you don’t get to move around too much because everyone stops you for pictures, like all the time.”
Huge lines formed to meet and take pictures with celebrities like William Shatner, Jonathan Frakes and Michael Hogan from Battle Star Galactica.
In addition, many enjoyed board games, action figures and panels who taught fans how to get into the comic book industry.
The event continues on Sunday from 10:30-5:00 p.m.
