Firefighters to honour hero

The Calgary Fire Department is honouring a man who rushed to rescue a motorist involved in a crash on Sunday.
Matthew Robson, a volunteer firefighter in Okotoks, was driving along northbound Deerfoot Tr. when a car rolled 20 metres down an embankment near the 17 Ave. S.E. exit.
He pulled over, and while his girlfriend called 911, Robson leapt over a fence and swam into the irrigation canal to get to the man stumbling around the burning wreck.
Spokesman Brian McAsey tells The Calgary Sun the fire department has decided Matthew Robson’s actions are deserving of their highest award.
