A reputed gang member is back in jail on weapons charges after a recent traffic stop.
When police stopped Roland Chin on June 12th, they turned up a loaded handgun under the hood of the Cadillac Escalade he was driving.
Police say it’s likely the S.U.V. was obtained by crime and fraudulently registered, but it’s unclear whether Chin knew that.
In the past, Chin was sent to jail for 23-months on weapons and drug convictions, and then released in 2009 to serve the rest of his sentence in the community.
He was sent back to jail a few months later after he was found wearing a bulletproof vest, while carrying two cell phones and a pocketknife.
