The Energy Critic with the Alberta Liberals is calling on the province’s energy minister to take a tough stand during the upcoming Canadian Energy and Mines Ministers meeting in Kananaskis.
Kent Hehr tells 660News, the Stelmach government has done such a lousy job managing it’s oil and gas business, it’s opened the door to more meddling from Ottawa.
Hehr says inaction to address environmental concerns , is why the federal government could soon impose new rules and regulations that could seriously curtail future development.
He has rolled out three things that he believes are key to any new national energy strategy.
1 : Alberta control of Albertan resources
2 : Alberta should not be punished for a growing and robust economy
3 : Alberta’s ability to market it’s goods should not be impeded upon by either the federal government or another province.
