Alberta scientists find Trojan asteroid

Alberta scientists have found Earth’s first “Trojan” asteroid that leads the planet in its orbit around the Sun.
Athabasca University space scientist Martin Connors and his colleagues discovered the tiny space rock after searching for more than 20 years; it measures about 300 metres across.
According to The Calgary Herald, Connors suspects the Trojan has been cruising along with the planet since it formed, with the Earth’s and Sun’s gravity controlling the asteroid’s position.
