Canada Border Services makes weapons bust

A 48 year-old man is facing a number of charges, after allegedly trying to smuggle some weapons into the country.
Kevin Hewson with Canada Border Services tells 660News, weapons seizures at the border is an ongoing concern.
“This year alone in Alberta we’ve seized 329 firearms. This seizure here of the 16 weapons is the largest at a land border crossing in Alberta,” says Hewson.
Kevin Lorne Swanson is not only facing criminal charges, but has been slapped with fines exceeding $11,000.
Border Agents recovered 16 firearms from a truck entering the country back on August 9 including a number of prohibited magazine clips and a silencer.
