Rocky View County under a fire ban

A level 2 fire ban has been declared for Rocky View County.
The ban has been put into place due to dry, windy conditions.
Rocky View County Fire Chief Ken McMullen is asking residents and visitors to be aware of the fire ban and help ensure the protection of the affected communities.
A level 2 fire ban represents a severe fire risk for the county and the current dry conditions can cause hay fields, crops, grass, and brush to ignite easily and fires to spread very quickly.
The ban includes:
Incinerators (for farm and acreage use)
Regulated burning barrels
Solid fuel barbecues (charcoal briquettes)
Recreational camp fires (approved burn pit 24″ in diameter or less)
Chimeneas
The exemptions to this fire ban are as follows:
Internal household fire places
Camp stoves
Liquid fuel barbecues (propane and natural gas)
Fires contained within approved facilities and appliances in designated camping and recreational areas
