Operation Impact underway for Thanksgiving weekend

The RCMP’s annual “Operation Impact” reminds Albertans to drive safe over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The traffic blitz is a national strategy targeting aggressive speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving and any other behaviours that endanger other roads users.
Corporal Stephen Simpson says the operation is about saving lives.
“It is hoped our efforts will lead to alert, safe, sober driving that results in everyone arriving safely at their destination,” Simpson says.
The RCMP and their Road Safety Partners will be stationed at key locations along Alberta roads enforcing safe driving habits until October 10th at 11:59 p.m.
