Lions looking for ninth straight victory

HAMILTON, ON. (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions can win their ninth straight game today when they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in their final road trip of the regular season.
With a 9-6 record BC is one win behind the Edmonton Eskimos for first place in the West Division. the Eskies beat the Toronto Argonauts last night 31-24.
The Ticats are also battling for playoff positioning. They’re two wins back of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for second place in the East Division with just three games remaining.
Leos linebacker Solomon Elimimian is expected to sit out for a second straight week with an ankle injury. James Yurichuk filled in last week and recorded seven tackles.
The Lions will also be without kick returner Tim Brown who is dealing with a rib injury. He’ll be replaced by newcomer Jock Sanders who was signed to the practice roster less than two weeks ago. Sanders also took reps at running back during practice this week and may see a few snaps at that position as well.
forty-one-year-old placekicker Paul McCallum is coming off his second straight Special Teams Player of the Week award and fourth of the season. He was five-for-five on field goals in last week’s victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Kick-off from Ivor Wynne Stadium is 4 p.m.
