Nakiska opens Saturday

History will be made at Nakiska this weekend.

Skiers will hit the slopes Saturday in the earliest opening at the resort ever.

Thanks to the addition of 10 new snow making machines, there’s enough snow on runs along the Upper Mapmaker, Middle Mapmaker and Big Bear lifts.

Other resorts in the area won’t be far behind.  

Lake Louise has pegged Nov. 5 as opening day.  

At Sunshine, it’s Nov. 10.
