Alderman wants city to create transit commission

One alderman is pushing for Calgary to have its own transit commission similar to those in other cities.
The body would govern public transportation systems, like the Toronto Transit Commission does there.
Alderman Diane Colley-Urquhart is pushing to ask administration if we can establish a governance model of our own.
According to The Calgary Sun, she says a commission would help citizens become more responsive to transit-related issues, which Calgarians identify as being some of the most pressing and important.
