Council approves transit’s purchase of natural gas buses

The city has agreed to replace old diesel public transit buses with more efficient ones that run on natural gas.
Alderman Andre Chabot tells The Calgary Sun the city will save over $11-thousand per bus each year by making the switch.
Calgary Transit will purchase 200 natural gas buses.
To accommodate the new buses, the city will have to spend $10.4-million on building upgrades and a compressor station.
