Police bust grow-op in Chestermere

Something seemed fishy when the owner of a Chestermere rental property couldn’t get into the house to do a scheduled inspection.  The locks had been changed and no one was there.

He called police to be there when he checked the place out Sunday, and found over 200 pot plants police say is worth about $250,000 in the basement.

Police also say it looks like the tenant was doing construction to transform the basement into a grow-op.

Mounties sealed off the West Lakeview Place home and executed a search warrant around 10:30 p.m. Sunday with the help of other police agencies.
