Southeast standoff ends peacefully

No injuries are reported after a four-hour police standoff in the southeast.

Calgary police barricaded a home on Penswood Road, after a woman escaped from the residence following a domestic dispute.

Duty Inspector Patty McCallum tells 660News, police tried to get through to the lone man inside by phone, but that didn’t work.

“We brought in a few more units, including the tactical unit, once they got set up, the person actually was more compliant and cooperated and came out,” she said.

McCallum said she expects the man will be facing domestic charges.
