Remember to recycle your Christmas tree

You might not be ready to call it quits on Christmas just yet, but the City is reminding Calgarians about their annual tree recycling program.

All homes that receive the black cart residential garbage collection can leave their real and undecorated trees by the blacks bins by no later then 7:00 a.m. January 9th.

Within two weeks crews will pick up and recycle the trees to reduce pressure on the City’s landfills.

There’s also eight temporary depots in place for Calgarians without residential garbage collection, or for those not ready to say goodbye to their dazzling trees.
