Otto Loose was kind, generous

A southern Alberta town is reeling over the news 77-year old Otto Loose was murdered.
Friends and family in Vulcan are remembering a man who many say was “down to earth” and “generous to a fault” as they try to deal with his death.
Bunty, as he was affectionately known, was found in a rural, wooded area near Claresholm over the weekend.
A common-law couple from Claresholm has been arrested and Mounties say they will be officially charged for the murder.
Close friend, Larry, knew Loose for close to 20 years and says his death is a major blow to the community.
“He was just down to earth, all the way around a good person,” he says. “Never did any harm to anyone, pleasant to be with and had a wonderful smile.”
He firmly believes had the couple asked, Loose would have given them the money they needed.
Herb has also known him for several years and says he’ll always remember his friend for his love of karaoke.
“The last time they were doing a little bit of jamming in the Hotel, I came in there and he said ‘Herb, sing me a song,’ I knew him pretty well,” he remembers.
The two men are anticipating a standing-room only crowd when funeral services are held at the town’s Recreation Centre. No date has been set.
An autopsy has been scheduled for later this week.
