Possible cuts coming to Catholic schools

Some Catholic schools and programs are on the chopping block in the city.

The Calgary District School Board is voting tonight on a consultation report that recommends shutting-down two schools, and four programs.

The moves are intended to help move English, French, and Special Arts programs to locations closest to where the majority of participating students live.

The Calgary Herald reports Holy Redeemer Elementary and St. John Fine Art School are facing closure, while English programs at three other schools could be scrapped along with the kindergarten to grade six French Immersion program at St. Wilfred.
