It’s been a cold and lonely five days at Canada Olympic Park, since windchill temperatures in the mid-40s shut down the ski hill.
Director of Communications, Dale Oviatt, said they kept the snowmakers on full blast ahead of an upcoming World Cup freestyle event a week from Saturday.
They were able to add an additional 50 centimetres of snow, bringing the base to roughly 125 centimetres.
Lifts begin operating at 9:00 a.m. this morning, and with temperatures soaring for the next week, crews at COP expect a large turnout.
